Usi storms Chitipa, promises business unusual in govt
Odya Zake Alibe Mlandu presidential candidate Michael Usi has asked people of Chitipa District to vote for his party if the country’s socio-economic woes are to end.
The country’s Vice-President said this on Tuesday during a whistle-stop tour which took him to Zamamba and Kameme in Chitipa North Constituency, Chitipa Boma in Chitipa Central Constituency as well as Lufita and Kapoka in Chitipa Chendo Constituency in the district.

He said being State Minister responsible for Public Service Delivery, he knows what it is needed to fix the economy, including the scarcity of forex and fuel.
“I am the solution if you want this country to develop. Currently, government is
failing to stock drugs in public hospitals to ensure that the poor have access to universal healthcare due to shortage of forex which has also affected importation of fuel,” said Usi.
He also said the prices of basic commodities have skyrocketed as traders cannot get forex to import goods and raw materials.
“Once elected president, I will also appoint four regional ministers from our four regions who will be responsible for regional development,” said Usi.
Speaking at Zamamba and Kameme, the party’s shadow ward councillor for Hanga Ward Mercy Mpoha said the area does not have potable water, electricity and good road network from Chitipa to Kameme.
“However, we are hopeful that once ushered into power, these challenges will be history,” she said
